First Look: Rains Anorak
www.rains.dkThis anorak is a contemporary rendition of a classic anorak, made in the classic light-weighted fabric of RAINS. The style is designed as a modern street wear item, to protect you from the rain but also used as a windbreaker.
Contrary to popular belief anoraks are not just for trainspotters. This fine example from Denmark’s Rains features adjustable drawstring fastenings, fully waterproofed seams and a big pocket for all your trainspotting gear.
Rains Jackets are slightly oversized. If you are normally a Medium we suggest you go S/M. If you are normally an XL go for a L/XL etc.

Great on Land and in Water

This is a wonderful rain anorak! It is very well constructed, with snaps as well as zippered closure. Pockets are both flap and hand warmers, plus two zippered poockets at chest. I have the granite color, which goes with everything, and the fit is very contemporary. It is both light AND warm, without being too heavy.
It can be worn in the water. I run around the woods and often cross small rivers or swim in lakes. This anorak is robust and feels good in the water.
I am a Dog Walker

I need a jacket that does not gather pet hair, covers me up, has a good hood and lets me breathe while I climb up and down the mountains in the rain. This jacket is very attractive, but does not live up to my expectations.
It is true, it does not attract lint, but it has a liner which does not allow it to breath if you are hiking. It is warm enough to wear on a chilly California evening, but is not warm enough for a cold winter's day. The hood does not stay up unless it is a day without any wind.
If you want a sweet coat to wear to work on "casual Friday" over your jeans, this is it. It keeps out the rain, but often it is too warm, or not warm enough and does not breathe. I actually think it makes a nice jacket for cool evening dog walks in San Francisco. Hope this helps in your decision.
Perfect for Portland's rainy weather

This is nice but the size runs big.
Just right for most of the 8 months a year it rains in Portland.
Cozy, large hood and long length keep out even the blowing rain.
Transitions very well from office to casual weekends.
Very well made, nice style

The construction of this jacket is top notch with strong seams throughout.
There are nice design details as well.
I like everything about it, but it is huge all over.
Tightening the drawstring at the waist didn't make enough difference.
I ordered the XL because I always need the extra space, but I should have ordered the L size.
Get the right size and I'm sure you'll be pleased.
