A sun poncho covers most of you.
The hood protects your head.
Unlike a hat you can't lose it because it is attached.

For sun protection a new style of ponchos is available made from breathable nylon, cotton or Lycra/Spandex.
We prefer the lightweight nylon ponchos, as they don't soak up much water and dry quickly.
You can get them in good outdoor adventure shops, just ask for hiking ponchos.
Make sure they have a fastener at the bottom which clips the front to the back and thus keeps it from going over your head in the wind or in water.
Ponchos are similar to anoraks or cagoules, but larger for better air circulation.
The lightweight breathable fabric is quick drying and comfortable on land or in the water.
Matching pants make this a most practical outfit.
The hood provides protection for the head without the need to carry a hat around.
Portable Changing Room
Ponchos make a handy changing room on the beach.
Just slip it over and you can change into different clothes without juggling a towel around your waist.
Popular in Asia
Sun ponchos are very popular among our photo models, especially in Thailand and the Philippines.
They don't want to get a tan, so this provides a great solution for playing in the water.
During a photoshoot in the Philippines our support staff came out of the shadows when we unpacked the sun ponchos.
They grabbed the two red ponchos, put them on and went swimming with delight.
Being able to play in the sun and sea without getting burned was great fun for them.

Our team enjoys a swim in their sun ponchos.
